Applicants submit their information by creating an Express Entry profile. Based on information in the express entry profile, eligible candidates are accepted into a pool of candidates and ranked using points based systems. Applicants with the highest scores in the pool are invited.
Applicants have 60 days to submit their application for permanent residence.

It is an electronic processing system that will result in fast processing times of six months or less in most cases.
Express entry is used to manage permanent residence applications for below immigration programs:
Step 1: Create Profile: An Express Entry profile is to be created for candidate with information about their skills, work experience, language ability, education and all relevant and required details. Candidates must meet required criteria of at least one of three immigration programs
Candidates are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System to determine their place in the pool. The system considers skills, work experience, language ability, education and a few other factors. Candidates must constantly update their profile to reflect changes in status.
Step 2: Invitation to Apply
Candidates will be invited to apply if:
are nominated by a province or territory or
are among the top ranked in the Express Entry pool based on their skills and experience.
if application is approved, applicants will receive
Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR)
a permanent resident visa (if requires a visa)
COPR will not be extended. So make sure to use it before it expires
